About Under an African Sky (UAAS)

Making a Difference

Under an African Sky (UAAS) is a voluntary association established by Compass Medical Waste Services (Pty) Ltd in 2009 with the aim of supporting wildlife conservation. The association, with support of volunteers and sponsors, produces a highly acclaimed, limited edition calendar which is sold worldwide in order to raise funds for animal welfare.

To date, R1.3 million has been raised by the UAAS calendar campaign with over R915 000 being donated to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) to assist them with their overriding mission of rescuing, releasing and rehabilitating orphaned, injured and displaced wild animals.

The funds have been used for the following worthwhile projects:
• the refurbishment and expansion of CROW’s surgery units
• employing an Environmental Education Officer in CROW’s Educare Centre, as well as contributing towards the production and printing of the Educare Centre’s educational booklet
• the purchasing of two vehicles to assist in the rescue of injured animals and later the release of these animals into their natural environment
• new baby antelope enclosure

UAAS would like to thank their valuable sponsors and committed volunteers along with the corporates and individuals who have purchased calendars over the years.

Without your support we would not be able to make a difference to animals in need.
